Hypnotherapy services for anxiety, stress and overthinking
You don’t have to keep pushing through, hoping things will eventually get easier. Whether anxiety is taking over your thoughts, stress is leaving you exhausted, or overthinking is making it difficult to trust yourself, therapy can help you regain a sense of calm, confidence and control.
What would you like to change?
You may recognise yourself in one of these areas, or in several of them. We’ll focus on what is affecting your life most and tailor your sessions around what you want to change.
Anxiety
Anxiety can show up in many different ways. You might find yourself constantly worrying, fearing that something is wrong with your health, avoiding certain situations or experiencing sudden waves of panic that seem to come from nowhere. Sometimes you know your fear is disproportionate, but your body reacts as though the danger is real anyway.
I can help with:
- General anxiety & excessive worry
- Health anxiety
- Panic attacks & panic
- Phobias & specific fears
- Social anxiety & fear of judgement
- Fear, avoidance & anticipatory anxiety
- Physical symptoms of anxiety & somatic anxiety
When stress becomes constant, it can feel as though you’re always switched on. You may keep pushing through responsibilities, work and expectations while finding it increasingly difficult to relax, sleep properly or enjoy the things you normally would. Over time, even small demands can begin to feel exhausting.
I can help with:
- Chronic stress & overwhelm
- Burnout & exhaustion
- Work pressure & high expectations
- Perfectionism
- Difficulty switching off
- Insomnia & difficulty sleeping
- Stress-related tnsion

Overthinking
Overthinking can make even simple decisions feel complicated. You may replay conversations, question what you said or did, analyse every possible outcome and struggle to let things go. The more you search for certainty, the harder it can become to trust your own judgement and move forward.
I can help with:
- Rumination & repetitive thinking
- Replaying conversation
- Constantly questioning your decisions
- Catastrophising & “what if?” thinking
- Difficulty tolerating uncertainty
- Decision-making & self-trust
- Difficulty switching your mind off
Self-doubt can make you question yourself even when you know you’re capable. You may hold back, worry about what others think, compare yourself to others or feel that nothing you do is ever quite good enough. Over time, this can affect the way you speak, make decisions and show up in your relationships, work and everyday life.
I can help with:
- Low confidence & self-doubt
- Fear of judgement
- Fear of making mistakes
- Assertiveness & setting boundries
- Performance confidence
- Comparing yourself to others
- Imposter syndrome
- Never feeling good enough

How Hypno-CBT® works
What is Hypno-CBT®?
Hypno-CBT® is an integrative approach that combines hypnotherapy with evidence-based psychological techniques, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness and elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Rather than relying on one technique, it allows us to use different approaches depending on you, what you’re experiencing and what we’re working towards. Some sessions may focus more on CBT and practical therapeutic techniques, while others may incorporate hypnosis to reinforce and rehearse the work we’ve done. Hypnosis doesn’t have to be used in every session. Your therapy is shaped around you, rather than following the same formula for everyone.
What does hypnosis actually feel like?
Hypnosis isn’t a strange or unconscious state. In fact, you may already experience something similar in everyday life. Think about driving a familiar route and suddenly realising you’ve arrived without consciously thinking about every turn, or that moment just before you fall asleep when you’re deeply relaxed but still aware of what’s happening around you.
During hypnosis, you remain aware and in control. You’re simply in a relaxed, focused state where your attention can become more absorbed in the therapeutic work we’re doing. There is no single “right” way to experience hypnosis. Some people feel deeply relaxed, others notice very little difference, and both are completely normal.
What happens during therapy?
Your first session is an assessment, giving us time to understand what you’re experiencing, how it is affecting your life and what may be keeping the problem going. Together, we’ll also establish a clear goal for what you would like to change and what you want to work towards.
From there, every session is tailored to you. We’ll usually begin by talking about how things have been since your previous session and build from there. Depending on what you need, we might use CBT techniques, mindfulness, behavioural exercises, hypnosis or a combination of different approaches. There is no rigid session-by-session formula because every person, problem and goal is different.
The work between sessions
Therapy doesn’t stop when the session ends. We only spend around an hour together each week, so what happens between sessions can be an important part of creating lasting change.
You may be given simple exercises to practise between sessions, such as relaxation or self-hypnosis, behavioural experiments or techniques we’ve worked on together. These are designed to help you apply what you’re learning in everyday life and reinforce the work we do during your sessions.

Not sure where to start?
You don’t need to know which option is right for you before we speak. Book a free 15-minute discovery call and we can talk about what’s been going on, what you’d like to change and whether working together feels like the right next step for you.
You don't have to keep feeling this way.
Change doesn’t have to happen all at once. Sometimes it begins with one conversation, one decision, or simply giving yourself the chance to do things differently.
